New Delhi: 26/12:(odiannews): The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday arrested five persons and detained another five as it raided 16 locations across Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in connection with its probe into a new module of terror group ISIS.
The group, allegedly linked to the ISIS, is called "Harkat ul Harb e Islam" and the raids, conducted with the help of UP and Delhi Police, were mainly focused in Amroha in north-western UP. According to preliminary information given by the NIA, one maulavi at a mosque in Amroha and a third-year civil engineering student have emerged as the prime suspects behind the new module.
Officials said they were planning to attack “vital installations” in the national capital and in UP ahead of Republic Day celebrations next month. During the raids, explosives like Ammonium Nitrate and pistols were recovered.
