Coimbatore, June 1: A man, identified as Prashanth, is now in news for returning a bike to its owner by parcel service after stealing it to reach home in Tamil Nadu.
According to reports, the man had worked in a tea shop in Coimbatore. He was without work after the lockdown. Prashanth stole a Hero Splendor bike from near his shop on May 18 and drove to his hometown Mannargudi with his wife and kid.
Later, he got to know that bike owner V. Suresh Kumar, who runs a lathe workshop at Sulur in Coimbatore, has lodged a police complaint and is enquiring about the identity of the thief showing a few CCTV clips from the area that showed his bike being stolen away.
After being informed this by one of his co-workers, Prashanth decided to return the stolen bike and sent the bike through a parcel agency to the address as mentioned in the RC book kept in the bike paying the declared value of Rs 13,400 of the parcel.
And Suresh Kumar had to pay another Rs 1,400 as the declared value of his bike as per the insurance paper was Rs 34,000. Later, he withdrew his police complaint.
