A thousand lamps were lit in the hands of women

Rajaknika, Dec 20: A thousand lamps were lit by a thousand women from the Barunadia Bridge to Varigada Ghat on Sunday evening in protest of the proposed mega project on the Kharasrota River. The mother worshiped the Kharasrota river, worshiping Arua rice and flowers. In the winter evenings, conch shells, bells, bells, and candlelight vigils were heard on the banks of the Kharasrota River. On the eve of festival the sound of conch shells, bells, and bells lit up the banks of the Kharasrota River. Tima Panda, Sanyukta Baral, Damyanti Mohanty, Reinarani Nayak, Urmila Bishwal, Meena Mallick, Renuka Malik, Vijaya Bishwal, Kshanprabha Raut, Anusaya Mohanty, Rangalata Mohanty, Reena Mohanty, Mama Behera, Pramila Raut, Sukanti Raut, Pragya Nayak, Lipi Nayak Laxmipriya Behuria chief took part in the event and took an oath to protect the Kharasrota river.
