Bhubaneswar Dec 21 : Odisha has reported its first cases of Omicron today.
According to reports, two persons were detected with the Omicron variant and both of them are foreign returnees. One person is a Nigerian returnee and another person is a Qatar returnee.
The new variant was detected after their samples were sent for genome sequencing. Both the persons are in quarantine and the health condition is said to be normal and there is no need to panic with this, said officials. The authorities have already started contact tracing for both the infected persons.
