New Delhi 3 Sep : Eshaan Vasanthkumar, a 17-year-old from Lucknow, has created the AI-based app “Roshini,” which can identify cataract in its early stages. The software was unveiled on Saturday at a free eye-checkup clinic hosted by the Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit and Study Hall.
This app was developed over the course of a year by a Class 12 student at Study Hall School, Ehsaan, in collaboration with National Health Mission and India Health Action Trust. It is simple to use and available to both the general public and front-line healthcare professionals who will support rural populations with basic cataract screening. Its objective is to end blindness and vision issues brought on by untreated cataracts. Varanasi, Fatehpur, and Hapur will be the first places where the app is used, he said.
