Cuttack November 9:Renowned painter and former President of Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi, Siba Panigrahi passed away at his residence in CDA Sector-6 in Cuttack on Monday. He was 78 during his last time.
Raj Panigrahi, son of the noted painter, shared the news of his demise. According to his statement, Panigrahi suffered a cardiac arrest while he was at home. Though, he was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, the doctors declared him brought dead.
Panigrahi received many awards during his illustrious career as a painter including the President’s Award, Chakadola Samman, Bhumi Chitra Samman and Sarala Puraskar among others.
Condolences poured in from many quarters after the news of his demise broke
