NewDelhi April 30 :Veteran sharpshooter Chandro Tomar, also known as ‘Shooter Dadi’ , died of Covid-19 at Meerut medical college on Friday.
Chandro Tomar had contracted the novel coronavirus infection on April 27.Aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri condoled the demise of Chandro Tomar and said, “An epitome of gender equality & champion of women’s rights Smt Chandro Tomar, known as ‘Shooter Dadi’ by her fans and admirers is no more.The courage with which she challenged patriarchy and took up shooting as a sport will inspire generations to come.
