{"id":6873,"date":"2021-07-18T03:07:34","date_gmt":"2021-07-18T03:07:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/odiannews.com\/en\/?p=6873"},"modified":"2021-07-18T03:09:51","modified_gmt":"2021-07-18T03:09:51","slug":"heavy-rain-in-mumbai-city-10-dead-imd-issues-red-alert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/odiannews.com\/en\/6873\/","title":{"rendered":"Heavy rain in Mumbai City , 10 dead due to land slide ; IMD issues red alert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mumbai July 18 : At least ten people were killed after they got buried under the rubble of their home in Mumbai&#8217;s Mahul and Vikhroli west areas following heavy rains that lashed the city.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While seven people have been killed and two were injured after a wall collapsed in New Bharat Nagar in Mahul, three others were killed after few huts collapsed due to a landslide in Panchsheel Chawl in Vikhroli.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Incessant overnight rains threw parts of Mumbai out of gear on Sunday with the city witnessing severe waterlogging, disruption of local train services and vehicular traffic. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai in the backdrop of heavy rains, a BMC official said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Five automatic weather stations across the city- Kandivali Fire station, Kandivali workshop, H east ward office, Vile Parle fire station, S ward office- has recorded over 100 mm rain in an hour between 1 and 2 am. The downpour has caused heavy flooding in low-lying areas of Chunabhatti, Sion, Dadar, and Gandhi Market, Chembur and Kurla LBS Road.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The suburban train services on both Central Railway and Western Railway in the financial capital were suspended due to waterlogging in the tracks due to the overnight heavy downpour, railway officials said.
