Mumbai Aug 1 :A young man was allegedly beaten up with an iron rod and forced to eat human excreta and garbage by a duo, reportedly due to personal enmity, in Jogeshwari East area of Mumbai in Maharashtra.<\/p>\n
The crime occurred at Aman Chowk on July 21. A local reporter, however, posted on Twitter a video showing the victim suffering at the hands of the duo on July 29, tagging the Mumbai Police, urging them to take action in the matter.<\/p>\n
The police stated that the video of the incident has started doing rounds on social media only now, but a case of attempt to murder was registered against the two accused, identified as Abdul Khalid Shaikh and Fahim Shaikh, on the same day (July 21), according to a report . The victim, identified as Tanveer Shaikh, was allegedly compelled by the accused to eat garbage and human excreta. The duo even thrashed him with an iron rod severely. A personal rivalry led to the incident, according to the police.<\/p>\n
The police have arrested Abdul Khalid. However, his accomplice Fahim is yet to be nabbed. The arrestee has a past criminal record. There are at least 11 criminal cases registered against him at the Meghwadi police station. Furthermore, as many as five cases are lodged against him with the Government Railway Police, the TOI report stated.<\/p>\n
In another incident, a seven-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a 22-year-old youth in Mumbai on Sunday. Reportedly, the accused, who is said to be addicted to drugs, kidnapped the minor girl from Kurla area and took her to Aarey colony, where he allegedly raped her. Locals, after hearing the girl’s cries, rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused.<\/p>\n
The accused was handed over to the police while the girl was shifted to a medical facility for treatment. She had sustained injuries to her head, private parts, and lips.<\/p>\n
