Know the Akshaya Tritiya story and Spiritual significance of it

Hyderabad May 3 : The Tritiya Tithi, Vaishakh Shukla Paksha (the third day during the waxing phase of the Lunar cycle in the month of Vaishakh) is one of the most significant days in the Hindu calendar.

It marks the birth anniversary of Lord Parashuram, the sixth avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu. Moreover, it is when the Treta Yuga commenced. And last but not least, it is closely associated with Lord Vishnu. Read on to know why Akshaya Tritiya is hailed as one of the most auspicious days.

According to another folklore, Shri Krishna saved the Pandavas from Sage Durvasa’s wrath by turning their empty food pot into an Akshaya Patra (a vessel with an endless supply of food). (For the unversed, Sage Durvasa expressed his desire to have a meal at Draupadi’s humble abode, but the latter had nothing to offer.
