New Delhi 7 Sep : Odisha CM’s sister well-known author and filmmaker Gita Mehta, passed away on Saturday at the age of 80 in New Delhi.
Gita Patnaik, who was born in Delhi in 1943 to Biju and Gyan Patnaik, pursued her higher education both there and at the well-known Cambridge University in the UK.
On his official account, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, “I am saddened by the passing away of noted writer Smt. Gita Mehta Ji. She was a multifaceted personality, known for her intellect and passion towards writing as well as filmmaking. She was also passionate about nature and water conservation. My thoughts are with @Naveen_Odisha Ji and the entire family in this hour of grief. Om Shanti.”
