6.2 magnitude earthquake strikes in parts of Newzealand

Auckland 20 Sep : On Wednesday morning, New Zealand experienced strong tremors that caused panic among thousands of people, who fled their homes in the hope to save their lives.

According to a government website, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted the South Island of New Zealand at 09:14 local time (2114 GMT).The epicentre of the earthquake was reported to be located 124 kilometers west of Christchurch at a depth of 11 kilometers, according to the  report.The organization added that nearly 15,000 people experienced the strong tremors that made them panic. People fled their homes as soon as the earthquake struck New Zealand’s South Island in an effort to save their lives. Additionally, there were a ton of posts about the earthquake on social media, with users pleading for the safety of those in New Zealand.

No loss of lives or major damages to properties have been reported so far by the administration. Although the quake was powerful, New Zealand’s National Emergency Management Agency did not raise the warning for Tsunami and stated that it hadn’t received any reports of damage so far.
